THE LEECH CLINIC

The Leech Clinic is led by hirudotherapist (leech therapist) Bridget J Croft, a qualified nurse and experienced practitioner. Nurse Croft operates clinics in Birmingham and London.

WHAT LEECHES TREAT

In Britain, leeches are widely used in the National Health Service (NHS), to help in the surgical re-attachment of severed extremities such as fingers, toes and ears.

The scientific literature shows that leeches may be beneficial in a very wide range of disease states, including the following:

Chronic skin diseases (such as, psoriasis, eczema, cutaneous leishmaniasis, hard-to-heal wounds)

Phlebitis and gout

Ischaemic heart disease
